10 GO-TO SITES FOR INSPIRATION, EDUCATION & STYLE
I love to share. From recipes to clothing, to the food on my plate, I’ll share just about anything (except my husband)! Sharing information, lived experiences, and knowledge about how to live with a positive mind, a happy heart and keen fashion sense is probably one of the things I enjoy most in life. If everyone selflessly and transparently shared more of their lives and wisdom to lift others up – sans an agenda or expecting something in return – I believe we would be better connected as humans and the world would be more harmonious.
For many years, I’ve had a love-hate relationship with technology, including the Internet and social media. Sometimes it’s hard to cut through the noise or rise above scrolling distractions to find information and land on sites that add true value to my life. Do you feel the same way?
Life online can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate, and we’re constantly bombarded with imagery and invitations to click on one tab or another to learn about a new product, service, or the latest news. Now that I spend more time online, due to building this media company and running another e-commerce business, I’ve fallen in love with a handful of sites that I feel consistently produce quality content about life, love, fashion, business, and inspiration. So since I wholeheartedly believe that sharing is caring, I’m laying them out here for you today! Let me know what you think and feel free to add some of your favorite sites in the comments below.
Well + Good is a lifestyle and news publication focused on wellness in all areas of life. The site creates compelling content for people who subscribe to a healthy lifestyle. Well + Good is a fantastic resource to stay in the know about the trends in fitness, beauty, nutrition, mindfulness, travel and overall lifestyle and relationship topics. Here’s one of my favorite reads: “I Drank Salt Water Every Day For A Week. Here Are 5 Things I learned.”
PureWow is a woman’s lifestyle resource dedicated to producing stories to make our lives more interesting, beautiful, and manageable. The site covers a wide spectrum of subjects to help us be the very best versions of ourselves as possible. With a focus on beauty, fashion, wellness, and food, PureWow's original content strives to 'make the fun stuff better and the important stuff easier' for their audience. I love this recent article about women and our compulsion to say sorry : “I’m a 40-Year-Old Woman and This Is the Weird Way I Learned to Stop Apologizing For Everything.”
Lifehack is your source for positivity and life inspiration. I particularly love the quotes tab – good stuff! Lifehack aims to turn negative thinkers into positive action takers, and provides the tools, resources, and motivation to help us reach our goals. I don’t know a woman who isn’t continually striving for work-life balance. In this read, Lifehack suggests 15 books to help you take control of your life. Enjoy!
Founded by Arianna Huffington (one of my “shero’s), the general scope of the Thrive Global content is to help us thrive in all areas of life – do more than just survive – thrive! I love their mission so I plucked it from the site for you to absorb:
Thrive Global’s mission is to end the stress and burnout epidemic by offering companies and individuals sustainable, science-based solutions to enhance well-being, performance, and purpose, and create a healthier relationship with technology. Recent science has shown that the pervasive belief that burnout is the price we must pay for success is a delusion. We know, instead, that when we prioritize our well-being, our decision-making, creativity, and productivity improve dramatically. Thrive Global is committed to accelerating the culture shift that allows people to enhance productivity through well-being. If you’re into sharing like me, you’ll enjoy this read on giving: “Giving Is One of Our Most Powerful Tools for Well-Being.”
Success produces articles from some of the most extraordinary and influential thought leaders and success experts to help us excel in every realm of our personal and professional lives. When you indulge in Success you can learn and draw inspiration from the greatest achievers of our time. Being a leader is not for the faint-hearted (whether at home, in our communities and at work). Here’s a great article on what great leaders never say: “7 Things Great Leaders Never Say.”
She Owns It is a gathering place for women to celebrate, support, empower and connect with other women. Targeted to the female entrepreneur, She Owns It is a resource to find inspiration and motivation to enrich our life stories. Here’s a valuable article on menopause and the workplace: “How Menopause Impacts Women in the Workplace?”
The Girlfriend celebrates women over 40! Woo-Hoo!! The articles examine and delve into the many ways life is affecting us right now. No subject is off limits, so share these good reads with your besties and add The Girlfriend to your list of daily reads! For those of you with children getting ready to go to college here’s a great piece on huge college savings possibilities: “How Your Kid Can Go To College For (Next To) Nothing.”
We draw much of our inspiration for WERTH from Goop (and the other outlets mentioned in this blog). Like us, Goop offers an all-encompassing platform for you to soak up good reads on beauty, fashion, food and home, and wellness, shop an impressive offering of curated products and listen to powerful conversations with thought leaders on the Goop podcast. Enjoy this conversation with Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow and Brené Brown: On the Roots of Shame, Courage, and Vulnerability.
What I love most about theSKIMM is how well it simplifies news and delivers it in a digestible format. It’s a valuable resource if your days are full and don’t leave you much time to catch up on the news. As stated on their site, Everyday theSKIMM break downs the news, trends, policies, and politics that impact women so that we can navigate our daily lives and futures – from managing paychecks to casting our ballots – with confidence. See if the issues that matter the most to you align with this recent theSKIMM article: Skimm the Vote 2024: What Female Voters Are Thinking One Year Out.
The Zoe Report, founded by renowned fashion stylist (and another one of my icons) Rachel Zoe, curates content that inspires and empowers women to embrace their personal style and live their best lives. Its essence is to foster a community of fashion-forward individuals who are passionate about staying on-trend and expressing their unique identities through fashion and beauty choices. Yes, that’s me! We’ve touched on the spring and summer 2024 fashion trends on our podcast and blog. I particularly loved the newest collection from CHLOÉ, so it was refreshing to see TZR write a summary of the new line: Chloé’s Fall/Winter 2024 Show Was A Star-Studded Extravaganza.
WERTH is a new media platform that aspires to be as valuable as these media resources for women. I’ve always believed that competition can be healthy and has the power to create community. It’s why I have no problem sharing media companies with a similar business model as ours and have been around much longer than we have. If you find these sites as valuable as I do, then I’ve succeeded in serving you well and being a value-add in your daily life. This brings me immense joy!
